Hi, i can’t get on to where to buy your books. I urgently need help with my 7year old son, I suspect he has dyspraxia, and suffers such anxiety about going to school every day/morning is hell and tears and sobbing, the school is no help at all and think he is just being a sook. His frustrations cause him such violent outbursts and life is living hell for the entire family, nothing is simple and everything is a struggle for him, yet he is a bright child. I’m at my wits end and feel like the worst parent as I can’t do a damn thing to help him.
I don’t know or seem to get the help needed to diagnose and then treat this… Can you help please. I feel so lost not knowing where to turn.

Hi I would like to get my boy tested, I know he has it but want to know how badly
Hi, I need help. My daughter, Mikayla has been diagnosed with Dyslexia a few years ago. We are in the process of moving to the Gold Coast in Queensland. I have done hours of research looking for an appropriate school for her to go to only to get more confused and frustrated.
In South Australia I have been talking to people who started in the early 90′s a Montezuma school in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. A group of parents who started to home school their children because of their childrens needs in special education was otherwise hard to come by but they had to consider the social implications with home schooling. They employed a teacher that specialized in Dyslexia and other special education and worked on the Montezuma educational material with success.
Is there anyone in Queensland, in the Gold Coast region who is doing something similar to this. If not, would something like this be able to get started. I don’t want my daughter to fall through the gaps, like alot of other parents out there.
I would like your input in regards to the education with Mikayla.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Joanne Lee
Is there any schools
Hi I am in wa my six year old son is showing signs of dyslexia, I also have it. I am trying to find any info I can to help him. I have taken him to the irlen centre, but I’m not convinced that it is all a visual problem, although he will not look at pages or words for long periods of time. I’m leaning more towards it being an audio problem, I have him booked into the doctor to check for glue ear. Any advice or suggestions would be appriciated. Donna perich
I placed on online order for 11 items on 21.07.2012. Order id: ⧣3480
I received a receipt with the download links.
Nine items downloaded, however, one did not download and I did not receive a link for one item. I sent an email asking for assistance with this matter and the reply was not helpful at all.
I was unable to download: SKU16140 Dyslexia: A Guide for Teachers $8.00
I DID attempt to download this item within the 120 hour timeframe.
I did not receive a link for: SKU16144 Fun monster worksheets for teachers $8.00
I have paid for these items and would like some assistance with getting them, please.
If you are unable to assist, I would like a refund for the items which I did not receive, please.

Hi dawn
I heard about you in a group for dyspraxia and feel a bit lost where to go for help and thought you may be able to help…
My six year old daughter was diagnosed by a private speech therapist when 3 and half -first oral dyspraxia now it’s verbal ..
She loves to do the things that are the hardest for her like sports and writing and Maths I’m so proud how she keeps trying but have noticed her sentences are seeming to not to be improving at the moment. We have been going to the same private speech therapist since first discovered but I’m not happy it’s helping and feel there must be a better way…. I was wondering how we can book an appointment with you if you can help us in this situation..
Thank you deonne
Hi, my nearly ten year old son was diagnosed with auditory processing disorder two years ago. Since then and despite changing to a more ‘child centred’ school, we have noticed an increase in the type and amount of ‘anxieties’ that he exhibits (eg: sleep anxiety, irritable bladder syndrome, incessant toe and finger tapping…) He is a wonderfully vibrant boy but has very few friends and doesn’t seem to make new ones easily as he is often on the ‘defence’ and has very low self esteem. Last week his teacher told me that he has possible dysgraphia and that I should get him tested. Do you also do that sort of thing? I am definitely not just interested in diagnosis, but more importantly, strategies for best making him learn. He is a top maths student but is starting to lag in the literacy requirements. I would love him to meet with you, we are in Perth and can make it down to Rockingham anytime. Regards.
Hi, it is so great to hear of what you would like to do. One is a good start, but ultimately we at least need a school in each capital city where the parents and most importantly the child will feel that their needs are being met. I am a primary teacher, and this year withdrew my 10 year old daughter from school, as having recently been diagnosed with dyslexia, she was really struggling, and was particularly ‘down on herself’. I think this is the saddest thing as a parent, to see your wonderful, and amazing child being negative about themselves. So well done, and I hope you can get some funding. I would seriously consider moving to Melbourne, if there was a school my daughter could attend. Today she told me she was frightened about returning to school. Home-schooling her has been great..but it was definitely only a short-term option, to try and boost her skills, and she has improved a lot. So now we need to find a supportive school and teacher!

Hi
My brother’s son is about 10 and although he is quite creative and intelligent and even manages to do well at school, he has an atrocious handwriting, has trouble remembering spellings, loves watching tv or reading picture books and generally dislikes anything which has too much text. He is also very clumsy and drops everything you hand him even if you tell him to be careful. My brother says its normal and it might be so but I think he might have either autism or dyslexia. My brother is a bit closed minded and wouldn’t take him to a doctor or a psychologist. Is there anyway to know for sure?
Hi Dawn,
You probably won’t remember, but I met you when I placed a Radio Listening Diary with you a couple of years back. I recall you had a strong interest in Dyslexia and have written at least one book on the subject.
I am considering becoming an IDL Facilitator and would be interested in your opinion of it. You can check it out at http://www.centra.org.uk.
I would welcome the opportunity to establish communication with you. I still live in Perth, but will move to Qld on Dec 9 and will also change my email address to jpsteley@gmail.com. I will keep the same mobile number: 0417 171 151.
I hope you are well. Kind regards,

Hi Dawn,
I just took Phillip to see Jean Pierre. His eyes are doing well and i wanted to let you know he is going on to year 11 next. After successfully completing his schooling at YBC in Maddngton. The Big Picture design of finding the passion and working on the strengths as they come with time, has been the best fit for Phillip with his difficulties in classroom norms. He had a lot of training to overcome in not being as social as he likes, but he is getting there.
He now moves onto learning all about his passion, footy!!
In Yr 11 n 12 he will doing Sport n Recreation Certificates and have the opportunity to be qualified for as many as 21 jobs within the fitness industry.
Thanks Dawn for helping him find his way with your course and to show him that a different way of seeing the world is ok too.
Just as a side note, along with Phillips Dyspraxia, i have just seen my 26 yr old eldest daughter diagnosed with Aspergers. Interesting eh!!
All the best over the holidays and I hope to catch up with you in the new year as I also am now working within YBC as an assistant with the special needs students, one of which is Dyslexic. Mostly I’m with the Autistic students, and what a joy they are to work with.
Thanks again!

My son is 7 going into yr 2. He has been with koondoola development centre for the past 2 years he has showed some progress there but within his school his report card is not good. I have researched it a lot and think he has dyslexia and that it is getting worse. Koondoola will not assess him or give dyslexia help as it is not a developmental delay.
His counting is very limited and he can’t do simple addition or subtraction. If he does it has to be sensory as he will loose his place. He is very indecisive and uses the “Iny miny miny mo” to make up his mind for every thing. His has been assessed as visually delayed and wears glasses but he still fears reading and writing. He is very good at remembering which direction everyone lives but can’t tell left from right. He has a fascination with earth moving construction and documentaries.
Please can you help him reach his potential. We live in perth
Please could you assit me. We have immergrated to your country a year ago and I have finally realized that my son has dyslexia the same as I did when I was his age, I noticed it more now since he started to do Naplan this week. I can see me in him and I have seen this coming but have been sitting with him for a while now but I fear I need some help now…. last night I asked him one question that just confirmed it for me… I asked him “Conner, are you crying because you think you stupdi” and his answer was YES… and then I took him in my arms and told him that his isn’t stupid and that his is very clever it is just we need to get some help now to be able to show him how to understand this…. I explained to him what dyslexia was and told him how I felt at his age. So now I am asking please can you mail me back and assit me as to what steps I need to take future…
Regards
Beverley
