Hi,
I would really appreciate some help and advice about getting my 13 yr old son assessed for Dyslexia. We’ve lived in Perth WA for 5 yrs now but I’m unsure of the correct procedure of going down this route. Do we need to have a Doctors’ referral for example, or just phone and make an appt?
Thank very much, Sam

Hi Sam,
Thanks or your letter. My name is Gail and I am on the committee of Dyslexia Centre Australia and I hope I can help you.
I understand how confusing it can be when you realize your child is struggling at school and you are not sure where to start in trying to find out the best way to help them. As a parent of a dyslexic daughter I too had no idea where or what I was supposed to do to help my child. Fortunately I met Dawn earlier on in the hunt and she has been fantastic in helping me and my child.
As Dawn is so busy at the moment she has asked me to pass on her email address to you. It is dawnmatthews@dawnmatthews.com
and she will give you the phone number to call so you can set up an assessment time.
I,m sure you will not be disappointed with the help she will give you and your son.
Regards Gail
Regards Gail
