Hi Dawn

My daughter is 8yo and has struggled with reading/maths since starting school. She has a great ability at art/music and sport and shows enthusiasm in all areas. Her teachers have had concerns and have suggested that she may have dyslexia which I do believe is correct. I have been trying is get her diagnosed but I can not get an appointment to a pediatric for many months and my local community health is no help at all. At present she is getting tutored 1 day per week for her reading and we have seen some improvement. Her teachers want to help but unfortunately they are not trained and lack any resources. Do you think I should persue getting her offically diagonosed and which books do you recommend for myself and her teacher as well as resouces? To be honest I have had more help from your website then any medical practioners. I just want to be doing all I can and to make it easier for her. Thank you.
