Global development delay

please please can you help my daughter who is 9 and a twin got statemented in feb 2007 school is not much help really , she has a helper who is always sick and helps other children more than my daughter i think ,i also thinks she has dyslexia as words are written back to front cant do maths i could go on where do i go now im stuck please if you could be so kind as to advise me thank you

Okay. Start with my tick tests, found on my sites. If she comes across as dyslexic then get the dyslexic pack or just the book, and most of what you need is in there. Either you can do the work with her yourself, its very easy and mostly games, or you can get the teachers aid or school to do it. The phonics course is written for parents and very simple to follow and fun.

If she comes as dyspraxic then you need to read the book on dyspraxia as well so as to understand why she is like she is and follow the simple games etc I describe. I have written these books to make it easy for parents and am selling them to raise money to set up my own dyslexic centre.

Try not to panic. Remember that its not about labels, its about understanding why your daughter is having the problems and how she best learns and then teaching her that way. The book Dyslexia- How to Win has tests that show you how she learns and then explain how to teach her. different children learn differently and its all about knowing the child’s learning strengths.
