Testing for Dyslexia

December 18th, 2008

This came through to us but I wanted to share incase it assists anyone else.

My ten year old son is having trouble with his spelling, reading, and writing. I have had concerns with this since he was in grade one but have always been advised that he’ll catch up in the end. During a family holiday this year I encourage my son to write a journal, the task became too difficult and his spelling was terrible, worse than his 6 year old sisters. How can I have him tested for dyslexia? What else can I do to help him? I don’t know where to go from here and his school have advised that he will require outside help.

hi,
there are tick tests on our site – Dyslexia Testing and more tests in the book ‘dyslexia how to win’. if he is dyslexic and that is the single most likley cause then all you ned to teach him literacy is in the dyslexia pack and the phonics course which is about to be published.

get you back to me if want more help. cheers
dawn
