		<description>hi,
thanks for your email.
i am trying very hard to get a list of people who can assess for this across australia but so far i have had very little luck. there is a SPELD organization somewhere in Queensland but they have declined to allow me to post their contacts.

start by doing the tick box tests on this site. if he comes as positive in them then you can find more screening tests in the book Dyslexia _ How to Win that i sell downloadable and soon in hard copy from this site.

however i&#039;m not always sure about labels anyway. if yo get him assessed and they just say.&quot;yes he&#039;s dyslexic&quot; then what?

i see it as being about finding out why he&#039;s having trouble and problems and then knowing how to solve his problems. or how to teach him so he learns properly. if your kid is not doing then then most probably thinks and learns slightly differently from the norm and needs to be taught slightly differently.

i also have tick box tests for dyspraxia and a list of things to look for for problems within the autistic spectrum. do all these and then get back to me with the results. i can better tell you what to do next then.
if you think he has classic dyslexia then the book mentioned above tells you exactly how to teach him. i also give away many hints and am at this moment writing a phonic teaching program. with all the resources on this site then you will be able to catch him up yourself.

if you read what i say abut dyslexia in my books you will know straight away if he is dyslexic or not or at least that is what parents tell me.
get back to me with the tick box test results.

their is a third sheet that downloads with the dyslexia tick box one. don&#039;t bother with it it should not be there!
cheers
